The Dyersburg and Dyer County Arts Council is a non profit 501C3 charitable organization. We have been dedicated to promoting the arts in all its forms throughout Dyer County since 1978. We believe that the arts play a vital role in our community, bringing people together and allowing us to share in the joy of local choirs, classic films, local artists' masterful works, and the theater. We are formed by a group of like-minded individuals from all walks of life. Our members range from some barely out of high school to some enjoining their golden years. Most of us are artists in our own right while some are just lovers. There is always a seat waiting for the next person that wishes to join us.

While the council has gone through many changes over the decades, its love for the arts has never wavered. Throughout the past several years DDCAC has hosted events such as murder mystery dinner theaters, concerts, piano recitals, art shows, stage plays and so much more. Like with so many businesses and organizations, COVID 19 hit us hard, making it all but impossible to host any events for almost 2 years. It has taken time to regain traction we are moving harder and faster than ever with bigger ideas than ever

Perhaps our biggest accomplishment over the years, our biggest give back, is the scholarships we can provide. Each year one graduating student from Dyersburg High School and one from Dyer County High School is chosen to receive a $1000.00 scholarship to use in anyway needed to further their education. These students must be going into the arts and meet the other requirements needed to apply. No so long ago we could only offer $250.00 each. The council hopes to continue expanding the scholarships in the years to come.

The council is committed to listening to the community's desires and providing access to or participation in the arts for everyone. Our monthly meetings are held at the PDC in Dyersburg, TN at 7pm on the Second Monday of each month, unless otherwise noted on our Face Book Page.
